There's 5 of them that I know of - all in Gardena. <br/> <br/>Theyre fun, casual, simple. You rent a room - small, medium or large, yu and your friends all pile in, have a seat on the couch, have a soft drink (from the lobby), select your songs from the book and punch them into the remote-control. Start, stop, repeat, change pitch, add echo, some even have a cassette deck to record yourself. <br/> <br/>Price averages $20 per hour, so we can all split it amongst us. They dont charge by person, it's per room. More or less depending on size of the room and which studio yu go to - some charge more. <br/> <br/>So - no date set yet, but I figure we can get in all 5 in one day, start, say on a saturday afternoon, go to a few places and have dinner, then go do a couple more - and for those absolute karaoke addicts - Im sure we can find a live place that has it, too! :D (a bar?) Because of that, I have a club-level Professional Video Karaoke system and a plethora of discs, all catalogued and in binders. <br/> <br/>I used to host rather large, though semi-public karaoke events at my shop in San Pedro. I am in the Valley now and have a large home where we do Karaoke quite often. We even have a small stage set-up near the pool out back, with a little lighting system. Like I said, Karaoke is pretty special to my household. <br/> <br/>I'd be willing to open my home to karaoke enthusiasts on whatever regular basis considered, since it is what I love anyway. Age wont be a factor, and so long as no one minds really exotic pets, a pool, and excellent munchables, I am game. <br/> (snakes, chameleon, ferret, pig *yup, real one!*) <br/> <br/>How about it? Anyone want to toss out a few dates here and let's get the party started? Theres a few words I change - so they can dialouge, etc., but I love to sing the UNrhyming line: "talk about your childhood WISHES - yu can even eat the PLATES" (rather than dishes).. <br/> <br/>And my fave karaoke moment is right out of a sitcom its so unreal and funny but i swear it happened. One place I used to go there was a guy named Jerome - a large asian fellow who was always smilin and joking, friendly to everyone, the life of the party. So I was singing "Secret Agent Man" and jerome set up a line of chairs in front of the stage, right in middle of my song, so he could sprawl himself across them, hand flailing back, mouth open, as if he was SO BORED with me singing that he had fallen asleep!!! Ha-Ha! So what else could I possibly do but sing the lines loudly and clearly "SLEEPIN' - ASIAN MAN"!!! I SWEAR on my mother's grave!
